We were hitchhiking at the end of the gas station. A car going out of the car station took us directly to Curitiba, but I believe the cars on the rodovia have enough space to stop. The gas station is accessible with the bus 032 from the métro station "Vila Sonia".

A car stopped as soon as we started to hitchike! He took us to a beach to surf, and then to São Paulo.

To hitchhike from SP to BH you can come to here (use google maps to help you getting to Mairiporã by buses or subways).. i came with a friend and we spent some minutes here.. then we got a ride to Pouso Alegre

just be aware about the rain in this area.. when it starts to rain in São Paulo it hardly stops..

Forget the SAKAMOTO autostation. FAROL IS THE BEST OPTION! REALLY! It could be the best option, because it's full of truckers, but the guys who work there DOES NOT let HITCHHIKERS TALK WITH THE TRUCKERS. They will tell you that you can only ask for a ride OUTSIDE the station.

Diffiicult since the area is mostly downhill and many people are likely to continue with the momentum but finally got a ride after about 3 hours of waiting

CEASA: There's a train (CPTM - ESMERALDA LINE) that takes you here easily. You have to take the YELLOW LINE of the METRO and then do the combination. Get down in CEASA station. (In every station you can ask for a map of lines). Here is not the best option for those who want a fast ride. Take your time, be amazed with this huge (HUGE!!) space full of truckers, fruits, greens, fish, and lots of other foods and talk with EVERYONE. When I say everyone, i mean EVERYONE (not only truckers). Say them where you want to go, ask if they know where people who go that way, usually park their vehicles or in which tent inside CEASA they have their lunch. People who works here knows lots of people, and if they like you, chances are HIGHER for you to find a trucker going to RIO, CURITIBA, PORTO ALEGRE, CHILE, PARAGUAY, ARGENTINA, MANAUS, PORTO VELHO. EVERYWHERE! Truckers here can go everywhere!!!

When I tryed to hitch a ride from here, I was looking for Rio de Janeiro, I couldn't find anyone going there in that day (only in the next one) but I received offers of truckers who were going to LOTS of other places.

POSTO FAROL
The good old way to hitchhike. Talking with the truck drivers is always a gooid option. And this is the place to do this when leaving São Paulo this way, Lots of truckers stop here before hitting the long road. Just talk with them. Be friendly and everything will be alright.

To reach here, get down on ARMENIA metro station and take the bus GUARULHOS VIA DUTRA. Ask for the bus driver to tell you, get down on the Policia Rodoviária Federal and walk to the autostation.

Posto Fase Quatro with Shell petrol station. You can get here by bus 164 from Terminal Tietê or from Metro Cidade Jardim, as well as bus 282 from Tietê or Metro Butanta.
